Two Rivers Art GalleryAward winning Exploration Place at the Fraser-Fort George Regional Museum has a variety of exhibits of local, cultural and natural history, the Sim-Ex Voyages Adventure Theatre, the fun-filled Hands On Explorations Gallery and much more.  The Railway and Forestry Museum of Prince George and Region has an extensive collection of rail and forest industry artifacts, which spans the whole of the twentieth century.

Within City limits are more than 120 parks and playgrounds, 7 nature parks, 7 athletic parks, 97 sports fields, 73 tennis courts, 106 km (64 miles) of trails, encompassing some 1500 ha of parks and open space. Some of the most recognized local attractions include: Historic Fort George Park, Cottonwood Park, Conought Hill, Forest for the World In the surrounding wilderness area there are numerous lakeside resorts, canoeing opportunities, hiking, biking and fishing, and for the winter visitor, downhill and cross-country skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing and snowmobiling.

Aquatic CentreOur city makes for an adventure full of family fun!  There are plenty of actives for kids and grown-ups alike. Our new Northern Sports Centre is the largest of it's kind in British Columbia and home to the province's longest indoor track. Two aquatic centers provide plenty of wet and wonderful fun for the whole family. Ice rinks dot the landscape. A movie theater is located right downtown with shopping close by. Other urban activities include: bowling, mini golf, go carts and horseback riding.

Once the sun goes down, you can turn to any one of dozens of exciting adventures in nightlife. The Treasure Cove Casino and Hotel is constantly on the go and is the largest gaming facility north of the lower mainland. The nightclubs in Prince George cater to a variety of musical tastes so you’ll never be without a place to tear up the dance floor. Many concerts are held at the CN Center with famous artists performing anything from the underground blues to stadium rock. However, if you are looking for a more relaxed environment, local offerings include neighborhood hideaways, sports bars, Irish-style public houses and laid back northern Canadian retreats.

Prince George offers a skilled and abundant labor force.  The College of New Caledonia (CNC) and the University of Northern B.C. (UNBC) offer a wide variety of educational opportunities and a steady stream of graduates.

Railway BridgeOur Economic base is largely forestry based. Other industry includes two chemical plants, an oil refinery, brewery, dairy, machine shops, aluminum boat building, log home construction, value added forestry product and special equipment manufacturing.  Prince George is also a staging centre for mining and prospecting, and a major regional transportation, trade and government hub.  Several major retailers have expanded into the Prince George market, a trend expected to continue.

Although the city’s population is 76,008 ( 2002 Statistics Canada), the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George includes the City of Prince George, the District of Mackenzie, Village of Valemount, the Village of McBride and other rural communities. This adds up to approximately 100,000 residents that live within the Regional District’s 52,000 square kilometers.
