Session Speaker: Cheryl Portigal-Todd

Cheryl Portigal-Todd, MSc, CGC, CCGC

Cheryl is originally from Southern Ontario and moved to BC in 1998 to complete a Master’s of Science in Pathology with a focus in prostate cancer research.  Cheryl held interests in both health care and genetics and went on to receive a Master’s of Science in Genetic Counselling from the University of British Columbia. 

Cheryl has been with the Hereditary Cancer Program at BCCA since 2002 where her role as a genetic counsellor involves providing information and support to families who may have a familial predisposition to cancer.  She also coordinates and promotes the HCP videoconference service for patients throughout BC and Yukon.
