Welcome to the summit
The Summit of the Canadian Association of Provincial Cancer Agencies brings a wide range of career professionals, nurses, administrators and physicians together once every four years to engage in discussions that identify best practices and innovative solutions to challenges in cancer control. From June 11 to 13, Northern Health, and Northern British Columbia will welcome experts from across the nation to a conversation that affects us all.
I’d like to invite you to be a part of this Summit and encourage you to engage with some of the world’s leading experts in cancer control strategies. With more than 70 experts sharing their ideas through presentations, expert panel discussions, debates and collegial conversations, this is a unique opportunity to share information and work towards innovative solutions that will benefit all of our communities. In addition, we have four world-renowned keynote speakers, Dr. Simon Sutcliffe, Stephen Lewis, Dr. Richard Heinzl and Dr. Anthony Fields, who will surely add to our discussions.
What makes this even more timely and exciting for me is the development of the Northern BC Cancer Control Strategy and the BC Cancer Agency Centre for the North. By taking part in the summit, you’ll have a once in a lifetime opportunity to engage in discussions that can provide a lasting legacy in the development and implementation of cancer strategies in northern BC.
In addition to the June 12 & 13 program, the BC Cancer Agency has organized a professional education day on June 11 offering five specialty discipline sessions related to the Summit theme. Added to the many exhibitors, networking opportunities and social events, this will truly be a Summit to remember!
